Delta Magnets Limited engages in the manufacture and sale of hard ferrite permanent magnets primarily to automobile industry in India. The company offers ring magnets for use in loudspeakers; arc/segment magnets for use in automobiles; flat rectangular shaped magnets for various other applications; and isotropic rings for dynamos and DC motors. It also involves in manufacturing and supplying magnet powder for various applications; and axially oriented ring magnets for specific requirements.
Promoted by the Piramals of Morarjee Goculdas, G P Electronics (GPEL) was established in 1985 with technology provided by Tokyo Kikai Sangyo Company, Japan, to provide magnets to OEMs. It is one of the leaders in the hard ferrites industry in the country. GEL started commercial production in 1986. One of the leaders in the hard ferrite industry, GPEL's clientele includes Philips, BPL, Bush (in the audio electronics industry), Bajaj Auto and Lucas-TVS (in the automobile equipment industry). The company's products have been very well received in the market and highly acclaimed by the customers. It has also introduced Strontium Ferrites for the first time in India to be used by the latest generation of two-wheelers. During 1998-99, the company has commissioned its new plant, having doubled its capacity from 1800 TPA to 3600 TPA.
According to the Consolidated - Audited financial statement for the Year of 2012, total net operating revenues increased with 18.44%, from INR 36.6 tens of millions to INR 43.35 tens of millions. Operating result decreased from INR 5.07 tens of millions to INR 4.06 tens of millions which means -19.92% change. The results of the period increased 5.47% reaching INR 3.28 tens of millions at the end of the period against INR 3.11 tens of millions last year. Return on equity (Net income/Total equity) went from 12.85% to 12.07%, the Return On Asset (Net income / Total Asset) went from 6.67% to 7.04% and the Net Profit Margin (Net Income/Net Sales) went from 8.50% to 7.57% when compared to the same period of last year. The Debt to Equity Ratio (Total Liabilities/Equity) was 84.77% compared to 101.86% of last year.
